As the truth continues to come out about Obama’s so-called czars, they are dropping like flies. The latest Green Jobs, Van Jones (an admitted communist) had no place serving in our White House in the first place. He boo-hooed that he was being picked on and lied about, but he actually stepped down before more could be brought against him. Thank you, Mr. Jones, while you may have thought you were helping yourself, you actually did a wonderful thing for our country.
On to Michell Malkin’s Culture of Corruption, Chapter 1 ONWS: OBAMA NOMINEE WITHDRAWAL SYNDROME:
Tom Daschle, Secretary-designate of Health and Human Services, withdrew on February 3, 2009 due to “ethical scandal, conflicts of interest, and tax avoidance.” This happened just after an investigation into New Mexico’s Governor Bill Richardson which resulted in his stepping down from the Commerce Secretary nomination. Even Senator Judd Gregg (replacement nominee for Richardson) had to withdraw over “fiscal policy disagreements”.
Then Treasury Secretary Geithner’s “tax goofs”, where he failed to pay $43,000 in federal self-employment taxes for “4 separate years” came to light. Another one bites the dust.
That’s already four bad apples out of more to come in Obama’s first 100 days in office. “President Clinton had six major nominee dropouts during his eight-year presidency; George W. Bush had two; George H. W. Bush, Ronald Reagan, and Jimmy Carter had one each, according to National Journal.”
Michelle lists them all in this first chapter which include: Nancy Killefer, Performance Czar; Jon Cannon, EPA Deputy Nominee; Charles Freeman, Director of the National Intelligence Council.
To give you a flavor of Ms. Malkin’s work, I would like to share some of what she found out about Charles Freeman:
He was the former U.S. ambassador to Saudi Arabia and in late February of 2009 Obama nominated him to the post of directorship of the National Intelligence Council. This position “is not for the thin-skinned, paranoid, or ethics compromised.” His responsibilities would be to prepare National Intelligence Estimates about potential threats to our national security. There were those opposed to his baggage both on the right and on the left.
On one hand, Freeman had too much conflict of interest for this position: “…served for four years on the board of the China National Offshore Oil Corp, a company owned by the Chinese communist government. The state-owned firm has invested in Sudan and Iran. He also led the Middle East Policy Council, a Washington, D.C.-based group funded by the Saudi government. Washington Times reporter Eli Lake also disclosed that Freeman chaired Projects International, a consulting firm that has worked with foreign companies and governments.”
On the other hand, there were ethical issues with his idealology: “Freeman was a Jew-basher and tyrant-coddler with a Blame America axe to grind. Liberal writer Jonathan Chait called Freeman an ‘ideological fanatic’ of the realist school blinded to morality. Freeman endorsed hyperbolic attacks on ‘Zionist political influence’ and wrote in a leaked e-mail obtained by the Weekly Standard that China’s problem in handling the Tiananmen Square Massacre was that it was too restrained.” IS THIS SOMEONE THAT ANY GOD-FEARING PATRIOTIC AMERICAN WOULD EVEN CONSIDER FOR THIS POSITION?! Mr. Barack Obama did not have any qualms with him, until truth was found out. It should concern every American citizen that we have a President who surrounds himself with these types of people. It should come as no surprise that he is pushing his socialized medicine as the beginning of socializing our great country.
Ms. Malkin states all the facts about these botched nominations, in her straight-forward manner, and has proof to back them up. She reveals the reasons behind them in the boldness that is needed to bring out the truth. Her book has brought out a righteous indignation beyond measure in my heart. I guess when we have a man that really has most of his experience based in “Community Organizing” as President, it stands to reason that he would surround himself with these types of people (now look what we know about ACORN-amazing how two young American citizens revealed what most of us already knew because our liberal-biased mainstream media ignored it-next up SEIU?). Since he cannot seem to nominate those who would pass the vetting process, he has to appoint czars that do no have to be vetted. God help us!
Chapter 2 BITTER HALF FIRST CRONY MICHELLE OBAMA – “Behind the glamorous exterior and soft-focus lens is a hardened influence-peddler on par with Obama’s dropouts. Lucky for Mrs. Obama, first ladies don’t require Senate confirmation.”
I believe I have given you a taste of what you can expect from this very revealing read. I think you should buy or borrow the book and read it for yourselves. You will get more out of it. It is worth the time and investment.
